What services does 1ARC Family Care provide?
We offer a full arc of family care across Alberta: safe transportation for children in the care of Children and Family Services, FSCD program support for children with disabilities, respite care for family caregivers, holistic family support services, dignified in-home senior care, and reliable door-to-door transportation for children, seniors, and families. One trusted provider for every stage of life.
Who do you serve — just children, or adults too?
Everyone, at every stage of life. We support children in CFS care, children with disabilities and their families through the FSCD program, parents and caregivers who need respite or family support, and older adults who want to age with dignity at home. Your family's needs evolve — and we evolve with you, so there's no need to retell your story each time.
Where in Alberta do you provide services?
We serve families across Alberta. Coverage for certain services can depend on location and scheduling, so the best next step is a quick call — we'll confirm availability in your community and, wherever possible, match you with a consistent local caregiver.
What is the FSCD program, and how can you help?
FSCD stands for Family Supports for Children with Disabilities — an Alberta program that provides funding and services to families raising a child with a disability. Navigating eligibility, applications, and service agreements can feel overwhelming. We help you understand your options, complete applications, connect with the right providers, and build a personalized care plan — so your child gets every resource they deserve.
Are your caregivers trained and vetted?
Absolutely. Every caregiver and driver undergoes comprehensive background checks, reference verification, and a skills assessment before joining our team. They receive ongoing training in trauma-informed care, cultural competency, anti-racism, and person-centred support — and we're fully licensed and insured for your peace of mind.
Do you offer culturally responsive care? What does that mean?
Yes — it's at the heart of who we are. Culturally responsive care means we honour your language, faith, traditions, and values in the way we deliver care. Our multilingual team is trained in cultural humility, and we provide culturally safe support for First Nations, Métis, and Inuit families. We adapt our care to your values — not the other way around.
How much do your services cost?
Cost depends on the type of care, frequency, and duration your family needs. Many services can be covered or subsidized through programs like FSCD or Children and Family Services funding. The best way to get a clear picture is a free, no-obligation consultation — we'll talk through your needs and walk you through any funding options you may qualify for.
How quickly can we get started?
We typically respond to every inquiry within 24 hours. After an initial consultation to understand your needs, many families are able to begin care within a matter of days. For urgent or emergency situations, let us know — we'll do everything we can to help quickly.
Do you offer respite care for family caregivers?
Yes. Respite care is one of our core services. Whether you need a few hours, a full day, an overnight, or regular weekly support, we provide compassionate, engaging care for your loved one so you can rest and recharge. Caring for yourself makes you a better caregiver — and we're here to make that possible.
What does senior care include?
Our in-home senior care includes daily living assistance, meal prep, light housekeeping, laundry, companionship and social engagement, transportation to appointments and errands, medication reminders and safety checks, and flexible scheduling from a few hours a week to full-time support. Every care plan is person-centred — built around your loved one's preferences, routines, and dignity.
